I am a proud member of the Loughton & Epping Forest Amateur Radio Society.
I joined the organisation a few years ago in order to study & take my Radio Amateurs Exam. LEFARS is affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain, and is a registered examination centre. The club meets fortnightly on Fridays and arranges a number of different events through the year, including:
Operating nights in the club room for HF, VHF, D-star, Datamodes, social meetings, outings to places like Baldock (the Ofcom listening station), Portable operations like GB2RGM (Royal Gunpowder Mills) GB2NWA (North Weald Airfield), GB0TBW (Trinity Buoy Wharf).
I am currently a member of the clubs committee and act as the clubs PRO, or Public Relations Office, and I also am the Librarian and News Letter Editor!
